A yoga retreat for Women

Mindful (Phone) Photography Retreat

If learning how to take better pictures has been on your to-do list for a while, along with finding time to get out into nature, here's an opportunity to do both! ✅✅


Join Michelle and I for some time in Killarney, one of Ontario's most beautiful places, as you learn how to use your phone's camera to its fullest capabilities.


That's right - your phone! ☎️=📷


No need for a giant DSLR camera here, we're going to use that amazing bit of technology in our pockets to work some photographic magic. ✨📱✨


This includes how to let nature do most of the work by using light and composition to our advantage, and getting familiar with how to edit photos while they're still on the phone.


And here's the best part - we're going to do all this while staying present, so we don't miss out on real-life experiences for the sake of a picture. 🌲☀️


We're also going to use this time together to practice restorative self-care, so we can return home with some amazing pictures and a light heart. 🖼️😊❤️


Activities include:

  • Yoga and mindfulness classes
  • Photography workshops including composition, lighting, and editing
  • Canoeing, kayaking, and hiking to some amazing, photogenic locations
  • Time to read, swim, or lounge on the dock.


Meals:

  • Healthy, energizing, and made with fresh ingredients (local and organic where possible).
  • We'll be eating mostly vegetarian, with plenty of room for vegan and gluten/dairy free - just let us know in the registration.
  • Recipes will be available for you to take home!



Sample Itinerary:


6:30am Optional morning yoga class, meditation, or paddle

7:30am Breakfast

9:00am Go on a hike or paddle

1:00pm Lunch

2:00pm Afternoon workshop

4:30pm Free time or optional yoga.

6:00pm Dinner

7:30pm Evening meditation or fire

9:30pm Move toward bed, reading, or stargazing


Thursday arrival time: between 12:00 - 2:00 pm

Sunday departure time: between 10:00 - 11:00 am

Who

This is a women's retreat.


No previous hiking, camping, paddling, or yoga skill needed. 


Ability to navigate rocky and moderately hilly trails required.


Cost 

$970/person, 

taxes included.


$250 deposit required to save your spot, balance of $720 due by August 1st.


Includes all meals, accommodation, & equipment. All rooms are shared.


Getting there is up to you, but carpool options are available!

Michelle is thoughtful, curious, and brave!

I originally met Michelle through a mutual friend, and immediately loved that she not only laughed at my terrible puns but added some of her own! Over the years I've come to know her as someone I can rely on for those really deep "soul talks" as well.


Her main philosophies in life are to eat and love well, face fears, be generous, surrender, capture the beauty of the world in words and images, and say yes to interesting opportunities. This has resulted in some amazing adventures, including as an award winning Canadian and destination wedding and portrait photographer, a certified yoga instructor, a singing clown, and amateur sailor restoring her own boat after a 9,000+ kilometer journey.
