If you've ever wished you could have a better relationship with your body or want to know how to care for it, this is a fantastic opportunity to let mother nature help you out with the process.
Join Sarah and myself for a deep dive into how to foster strength and resilience in our physical bodies, while exploring how mindset plays a big role in physical health & vice versa.
Getting away from all the less-than-positive body image influences is a great way to clear your mind, leaving more space for curiosity and appreciation. (And maybe even a bit of love!)

Sarah and I met through our yoga teacher network, and I liked her from the get-go as we "nerded out" about how neat the body is and how amazing the mind-body connection can be! I count myself lucky to be both friend and physio patient to her. :)
Sarah's motto is “move, nature, nourish, sleep, connect" and it has served her well over the years! She began her journey into physiotherapy in 2006, and has since taught at the University of Toronto in the Master of Science in Physiotherapy Program, where she was once a student.
A true lover of learning, she has also completed courses in acupuncture, yoga, Pilates, and the "Integrated Systems Model" approach which looks at the entire body, not just the spot that hurts. She emphasizes patient empowerment, and I know you'll find her just as wonderful as I do.
The ability to walk on uneven, rocky trails is required. Aside from that, anyone can come! The yoga, hiking, and paddling are for beginners so you don't need to be a pro in any of these areas, we'll teach you what you need to know.
You can participate as much as you like, so if you want to come for most and skip the hike or anything else that's no problem.
If you have any mobility concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out! :)
Due to the layout of the cabins we cannot provide private rooms, but there are private dressing areas in each cabin, as well as plenty of space between the beds so you're not all crammed in like summer camp.
We'll do our best to make sure friends can bunk in the same room, and if you have any concerns please feel free to reach out!
The black flies are gone by this time of year, and there aren't many mosquitoes at the Avalon due to it's great location. If you tend to get eaten, of course we recommend spray for yourself.
Heck yeah! Either Sarah or myself will happily put aside 15-20 minute to make sure each person gets a little one-on-one time if that's what you'd like. (It's also not a required component.)
We provide all the equipment and food you'll need, so you just need to bring your personal belongings.
We'll send you a comprehensive packing list before the trip, and we always bring a few extra things, so you'll be well prepared.
