If you love nature and long to be able to take better pictures so that you can share your experiences, this is a great opportunity!
Join Michelle and I for some time in one of Ontario's most beautiful places, and use your phone's camera to it's fullest capabilities. That's right - your phone! No need for a massive DSLR camera here, we're going to use that amazing bit of technology in your pocket to work some photographic magic.
Learn how to let nature do most of the work by using light and composition to your advantage, and get familiar with how to edit your photos while they're still on your phone.
We're going to do all this while staying present, so we don't miss out on the real-life experiences for the sake of a picture.
We're also going to use this time together to bust some limiting beliefs and practice restorative self-care, so you can return home with some amazing pictures and a light heart.

I originally met Michelle through a mutual friend, and immediately loved that she not only laughed at my terrible puns but added some of her own! Over the years I've come to know her as someone I can rely on for those really deep "soul talks" as well.
Her main philosophies in life are to eat and love well, face fears, be generous, surrender, capture the beauty of the world in words and images, and say yes to interesting opportunities. This has resulted in some amazing adventures, including as an award winning Canadian and destination wedding and portrait photographer, a certified yoga instructor, a singing clown, and amateur sailor restoring her own boat after a 9,000+ kilometer journey. (Plus so much more!)
Come to learn some photography skills, and stay for the incredible stories!
Nope! This trip is all about learning how to use your camera phones to their full capabilities. (Though feel free to bring any fancy equipment you have.)
The only "requirement" is that you download the free "Lightroom" photo editing app, as that's what Michelle will be using to teach editing.
The ability to walk on uneven, rocky trails is required, as well as a bit of endurance for a few hills.
Aside from that, anyone can come! The yoga, hiking, and paddling are for beginners so you don't need to be a pro in any of these areas, we'll teach you what you need to know.
You can participate as much as you like, so if you want to come for most and skip the hike or anything else that's no problem.
If you have any mobility concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out! :)
Due to the layout of the cabins we cannot provide private rooms, but there are private dressing areas in each cabin, as well as plenty of space between the beds so you're not all crammed in like summer camp.
We'll do our best to make sure friends can bunk in the same room, and if you have any concerns please feel free to reach out!
The black flies are gone by this time of year, and there aren't many mosquitoes at the Avalon due to it's great location. If you tend to get eaten, of course we recommend spray for yourself.
We provide all the equipment and food you'll need, so you just need to bring your personal belongings.
We'll send you a comprehensive packing list before the trip, and we always bring a few extra things, so you'll be well prepared.
